Leroy’s upbringing was tough. Growing up in the heart of New York while the city grappled with rising crime rates would result in young Leroy being left an orphan. Seeing the pain the gangs caused forced him to mature quickly, eventually leaving the city for a new home.

In Hong Kong, Leroy discovered the martial art of Wing Chun, a discipline that captivated him with its focus on combat expertise against multiple adversaries. Mastering this art, he returned to New York, now a hero seeking to liberate his city from the gangs' control.

Upon his return, Leroy single-handedly confronted and defeated the gangs, freeing New York from their grip. In the process, he unearthed a shocking truth—the Mishima Zaibatsu, a powerful corporation, orchestrated the large-scale war that devastated the city half a century ago.

Determined to eradicate this source of evil, Leroy entered The King of Iron Fist Tournament organized by the Mishima Zaibatsu. With Heihachi Mishima's disappearance, G Corporation seized power, imposing its own brand of tyranny worldwide.

Leroy, accompanied by his loyal companion Sugar, realized that Kazuya Mishima, Heihachi's son, now led G Corporation. Recognizing the imminent threat to global peace, Leroy resolved to confront and neutralize this new adversary, determined to restore order to a world plunged into chaos.

Personality

Leroy harbors a strong sense of justice. His training as a Wing Chun martial artist has certainly taught him how to fight, focusing on self-defense. Even as he fights to liberate New York from the raving gangs that control it, he has shown compassion and caring towards others, especially his pit bull, Sugar.

Playstyle

Like the real-life martial art, Leroy’s move set is based on. He is often focused on parry and defensive stances. But his various stances also allow him to enact pressure or transition out of tricky situations.

Because of the power of his defensive gameplay style, it can be a little easier for new players to play reactively to opponents. Yet, Leroy’s true potential lies in switching stances regularly and maximizing what each has to offer alongside the HEAT system.

Leroy Smith has rightfully earned the title of the Grandmaster of Drip. Aged like a fine wine, Leroy mixes the New York flair with expansive jewelry, pristine traditional Hong Kongese attire with gold accents, and stunning silver hair. It's a package that can only work all together when the man exudes confidence.
